The Joint Chiropractic Expands With New Clinic

The Joint Chiropractic is now open in San Antonio at 9110 N. Loop 1604 W., Suite 109. The new Bandera clinic officially opened its doors on May 19.

The Joint offers an innovative, patient-friendly approach that allows customers to receive affordable, quality chiropractic care on their own terms.

Scheduled appointments are not necessary, as clinics are regularly open during evenings and weekends. Due to The Joint’s membership plans and packages, insurance is also not needed, allowing visits to be less costly than most insurance copays.

Clinic owner Larry Maddalena, DC opened the first The Joint franchise in the state of Texas in May 2007, after running a successful private practice in California for 10 years. He received his Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) from Palmer College of Chiropractic West in 1996. He initially became interested in chiropractic after being successfully treated for allergies and chronic back pain as a teenager through the alternative medicine practice.

In-Depth Knowledge and Expertise

The full-time doctors now working at the new clinic are Dr. Sean McKnight, D.C. and Dr. Mark Nicosia, D.C.

Dr. McKnight earned his Doctor of Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College in 2012. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Hartford in Connecticut prior. After working in New York City for a short time, he visited San Antonio and relocated soon after.

Despite being relatively new to the area, Dr. McKnight looks forward to helping San Antonio residents experience the same health benefits he gained from chiropractic when he was a teenager when, as a high school athlete, he suffered numerous injuries and experienced notable healing during his weekly visits to a hands-on chiropractor.

A Texas native, Dr. Mark Nicosia was born and raised in Corpus Christi. After graduating from Parker University in Dallas, Dr. Nicosia practiced chiropractic for 20 years in Corpus Christi. He decided to pursue a chiropractic career at the age of 13 after his father received an injury and was told he could not recover without surgery. His father chose chiropractic treatment instead and is still walking today. Dr. Nicosia believes he can impact lives with chiropractic medicine just as his father’s was many years ago.

The Joint, which appears on this list for the first time in the company’s history, is the top healthcare services franchise to be included on the prestigious list. The full list appeared in the May 2016 issue of Entrepreneur.

The top 100 companies are ranked based on objective, quantifiable criteria, including system size, growth rate, and financial strength and stability. Other factors include: years the franchise has been in business, startup costs, litigation brought by franchisees, franchise terminations, and whether financing is available.
